An "all but forgotten art," the photogravure printmaking process originated back in the 19th century, used to produce some of the first photographs ever made. Known for its "unique tonal range" and "rich depth and texture," the process became an "effective tool" of the Pictorialists, playing an integral role in the "evolution of fine art photography." There's still some active practitioners of the art of the photogravure around the world and today's pick certainly lives up to its claim of being a comprehensive resource on the topic...
