This brand new visual magazine features the tasty works of a dozen contributors. The first issue contains no external links and is free of promotional content – just the art (and it's good stuff). It'll be interesting to see what future issues bring....;~))    (RSS Feed)

R. Marie Cox says part of the site's purpose "is to develop a solid, yet extendable, collection of classes that can be used over and over again for various web applications." It's a personal experiment, a "springboard for ideas" in which she can test the application framework she's developing. "It's tedious, it's horrible, and it's totally worth it in the long run." A number of interesting projects "relying on a common code set" are featured. If you're a designer, you're bound to find the CSS Help Pile and ap.log useful – create an account and you'll be able to save your favorite links using Scribble. Another fun projects lets you "create an online list of all your LEGO® sets." The site's somewhat a work in progress, now in its 7th version, but it certainly appears to have "gone useful." And I enjoyed meeting Yuki in the photo.lab...;~))   (RSS Feed)

"When people are shut in a subway carriage they look for something to do during their journey. They read the paper, listen to music or brood on something unpleasant said to them at work. I prefer to draw the other people." António Jorge Gonçalves spent time riding the subways in 10 different cities, drawing "whoever [sat] in front of [him]" – enjoy the ride...    (RSS Feed)

I revisited a notable site this morning I hadn't seen for a long while. "Fill it up with marmalade." "No ticket validations this year." And "rusted paradise transporters" are for sale. The Sign section's tasty visuals are also messages – love it. I'm not sure what to make of the Builded section but the grid of tiny pics of buildings in Athens offers quite the color show with the help of your rodent device. And saving the best for last, the highlight of my visit was buying 50 seconds of the beautiful orange bear's time. It only cost 10 Euros (in play money, of course) and I sat there pulling on the critter's cord, thoroughly entertained, just wishing the brown bears weren't sold out – cheers Panos and thanks for the fun...;~))   (RSS Feed)

This is the place. You'll have to explore a little to get the secret of Matt's navigation scheme – I just love the non-linear presentation. And if you like portraits, here's another tasty entry point for ya...;~))  [low resolution]   (RSS Feed)

"Don't stop...!" A young graphic designer in Belgium with a fine arts background loves "feeling the vibration of the music" and drawing hiphop people. What wonderful style!  [Neuarmy]   (RSS Feed)

"Jeden tag ein foto." Since January, Jan has been taking a picture everyday. As each new month begins, the set of daily photos from the previous month is posted in its entirety – sort of a monthly diary (a colorful and interesting visual narrative). Most of the images are just 150x200 in size, presented in a scrollable horizontal layout – sure works for me...;~))   (RSS Feed)

There's 3 directions one could follow from the splash, one of them being Pasquale's acquariofilia project. The photos are beautiful. Pasquale has two aquariums plus "a beautiful bathtub, 80x35x50". full of plant life and tropical fish – sure makes for vibrant color. There's more, including outdoor panoramas, assorted macro shots, and a standalone gallery with its own categories – it's all good...;~))   (RSS Feed)

Having lived in Chicago for many years (a great city, thank you), today's pick is a treat for me. Of course, I hope it is for you too. Years ago, I worked on almost the top floor of the tall white building in the top left corner of this picture – is that an amazing photo or what? Archie's fisheyes and macros are cool too – enjoy a visit to Whateverland...;~))  [Raster]   (RSS Feed)
