The Watchmaker Project 12/9/05 Description: personal journal and project playground of web designer Matthew Pennell Comments: There's an interesting post about how "internet know-it-all and web designer" Matthew came up with the site's name – makes me think of something an old boss used to mutter to himself – who pushed me in? Among the projects in Matthew's playground is a novel in progress (a "teen-sleuth adventure"), which though proceeding at "a snail's pace," also includes a nifty list of resources for writers. Another project in the works is an odd design portfolio – he plans to build some great websites for "pretend clients" since that full-time design job kinda prevents him from building a real portfolio – this could get interesting. There's also a section of design-related resources and the journal, where Matthew gets to "rant and rave" a bit, as well as post on topics related to design and standards. And what I really like about today's pick – I think it's a great design, even if the footer sucks...;~)) [Escape Crate]
